Travel to Bad Ischl

The easiest way to travel to Bad Ischl is from VIENNA. At the airport, you simply change floors and travel directly from the airport to Bad Ischl. You will need to change trains once in a small town Attnang-Puchheim, and on the regional train you can enjoy the beautiful Salzkammergut region. Travelling time total 3,5 hrs. 

We recommend that you book your train ticket as early as possible (you can do so from 6 months in advance); prices are lower, and a good option is to buy a "Sparschiene" ticket (around €20 instead of the standard price of €70 one way).

If you are arriving in SALZBURG, there are regular buses (Bus nr. 2) from Salzburg airport to Salzburg main train station Salzburg airport . You can then take Bus nr. 150 to Bad Ischl Salzburg Verkehr . The bus departures every 30 minutes and the trip takes 1,5 hr.

Shuttle services are available through private companies from Salzburg airport and train station to Bad Ischl.

If you are arriving in MUNICH, there are regular trains from Munich airport Munich Airport to Munich main train station Muenchen Bahnhof . You can then take a train to Salzburg (1,5 hr) and in Salzburg a bus number 150 to Bad Ischl Salzburg Verkehr . The bus departures every 30 minutes and the trip takes 1,5 hr. You could also consider booking a shuttle service from Munich airport to Bad Ischl via SMS transport service www.mietwagenservice.at (privat transfer for approx. € 700 for a return trip).
